Computing

At Barton Clough, we aim to equip our pupils with the skills to master technology, preparing them for a digital future. Technology plays a crucial role in everyday life, and we focus on teaching our students to use it positively, responsibly, and safely.

Through a broad computing curriculum, which includes computer science, digital literacy, and computational thinking, our pupils learn to be creators, not just consumers. We follow the DfE-funded TeachComputing scheme, providing a structured approach that covers coding, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

We ensure inclusivity for pupils with Special Educational Needs by offering tailored support and resources to meet diverse learning needs. Our goal is to make learning accessible and engaging for all.

By integrating computing across subjects, students learn how technology supports daily life. They gain hands-on experience in writing computer programs, understanding networks, and safely navigating the internet. We aim to develop respectful, responsible, and confident digital citizens, ready for future challenges.
