At Barton Clough Primary School we want our pupils will be well-versed in a variety of religions and worldviews. We follow the Kapow religion and worldviews curriculum that encourages students to express their ideas and insights about the nature, significance, and impact of religions and worldviews. The children will explain how beliefs, practices, and forms of expression shape individuals and communities.
During weekly lessons our children will gain and deploy essential skills needed to seriously engage with religions and worldviews. They will explore key concepts such as belonging, meaning, purpose, and truth, responding creatively. They will investigate what enables diverse individuals and communities to coexist respectfully, contributing to the wellbeing of all. Our children will also learn to clearly articulate their beliefs, values, and commitments, and explain their significance in their own lives and in the lives of others. We ensure inclusivity for pupils with Special Educational Needs by offering tailored support and resources to meet diverse learning needs. Our goal is to make learning accessible and engaging for all
Through this comprehensive curriculum, our children not only learn about others but also feel empowered to confidently and proudly express their own faiths and viewpoints. This preparation equips them to thrive in a diverse, modern British society, embodying the values of inclusion, mutual respect, and tolerance, crucial for their ongoing education and as active, informed citizens.
