Barton Clough Redevelopment

Barton Clough Primary School, in partnership with the Department for Education (DfE), is excited to announce the redevelopment of the existing school site on Audley Avenue, Stretford.

These improvements are designed to create a modern, high‑quality learning environment that supports current and future pupils, enhances outdoor areas, and ensures facilities meet today’s educational and sustainability standards.

The development is being funded by the Department for Education’s School Rebuilding Programme (SRP).


About the Project

The scheme includes:

  • new school building offering modern teaching and learning spaces
  • Improved MUGA and retained playing fields
  • Reconfigured car parking and safer site access
  • A dedicated Forest School zone
  • Removal of outdated buildings and upgrades to landscaping
  • Enhanced sustainability features, including reduced running costs and improved comfort

Construction Period

Construction works will be carefully managed to:

  • Keep the school operational throughout
  • Maintain safe segregation between pupils and works areas
  • Minimise noise, disruption, and vehicle movements
  • Ensure safeguarding measures are fully adhered to

A phased approach will be used, and further information will be provided as the project progresses.
