A first-class makeover at Barton Clough!

Work is now complete on a special project to refurbish parts of the school building and some of the facilities at school.

Improving the look and feel of Barton Clough had been on our wish list for some time and, thanks to Bright Futures, this project is complete and benefits include:

  • Providing an improved teaching and learning environment
  • Offering fun play areas to improve children’s physical and mental health and wellbeing
  • Improving the external appearance of the school
  • Enhancing the thermal performance of the building and reducing its carbon footprint

Head of School, Mr Foster-Carr, said: “We’re delighted with the refurbishment works and the visible improvements which have been made to Barton Clough. These include new classrooms, new roofing and a new canopied play area. A parent said to me, recently: ‘We’ll be the best looking school around’. It’s great to see and hear about the positive impact these works are having.”

Black Cat Building Consultants led the project and the building contractors were Contor Ltd. The full list of phased works included:

  • Newly remodelled Reception and SEN classrooms
  • Newly refurbished and covered play areas
  • Toilet Refurbishment throughout the school
  • New school roof
  • New double-glazed windows and doors
  • New security fencing and access-controlled gates
  • New fire alarm and emergency lighting
